A QOH Panel Challenge - FUN!

Our fearless Quilts Of Honor leader, Gail, has issued a panel challenge for those of us willing to take her up on her offer.  Once we saw this gorgeous eagle panel and the accompanying rich fabrics, we knew we just had to participate in this exciting panel challenge!

Even though Gail gave us a deadline of September 1, 2020 - Illiana Quilts Of Honor has chosen to finish ours a month early, so it may be awarded to a very deserving Combat Veteran during one of our upcoming QOH Award Events in August.  However, we won't be sharing ANY of our completed quilt challenge pics 'until' this panel challenge deadline is met ;-)

Greetings Everyone - hope this message finds you Safe & Healthy!

During this challenging time that we, as a nation are currently facing, we will continue to sew & quilt to honor our beloved Combat Veterans and Service Members for their service and sacrifice for our country.

While we may not be awarding in public venues for the time being, we are confident we will be celebrating our Veterans during our 2020 Veteran's Day Celebrations.

In the meantime, as QOH nominations come forward, we will either:

1. Ship the completed Quilt Of Honor with ALL accompanying documents to the intended Quilt Of Honor Award Recipient OR 
2. Make arrangements to award at a more optimal/convenient time.

Please don't hesitate to contact me w/questions, and know that your Volunteer efforts are so appreciated by our Veterans.

Each and every Combat Vet and Service Member that we have awarded almost always has tears in their eyes and is so grateful - many tell us later, or one of their family members will share, that for the first time in a very long time, their Vet is sleeping soundly without nightmares, under the comfort of their Quilt Of Honor.

The Mission of Quilts of Honor®:  "To bestow a universal symbol and token of thanks, solace, and remembrance to those who serve in harm's way to protect and defend our lives and freedom".

NEW 2020 Illiana Quilts of Honor Goals:

1) To Honor area Illiana Combat Veterans and Service Members through Quilts of Honor.

2) Create and award a minimum of twenty-five (25) Quilts of Honor to area Combat Vets.

3) Share the QOH Mission with those who wish to also help support our Volunteer efforts to Honor and Thank our Combat Veterans through Quilts of Honor.

Our Illiana Quilts of Honor Chapter will also make available ten (10) Quilts of Honor for an Illiana Veteran's Day Event. ALL submissions will be given serious consideration and final determination made by July 31, 2020, and the announcement made October 1, 2020.

Since the inception of QOH - more than 8,000+ Quilts of Honor have been created by loving and caring hands of Volunteers throughout our country to honor and Thank our Combat Veterans for their sacrifice and service for our country.  "Our hope is that these quilts will provide comfort, love and healing to those who have given so much."
