June 14, 2019 - National Flag Day!

242 years ago on June 14, 1777, our United States Continental Congress approved the design of our national flag.  Later in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed and issued a Presidential Proclamation declaring June 14th as National Flag Day.  ~Library of Congress

May has been an incredible month for our Illiana Quilts Of Honor Group.  The outpouring of Love and Support for our Volunteer efforts to continue to honor our area Combat Vets through Quilts Of Honor has been phenomenal...Thank You ALL!

Donations continue to roll in, including those from one of our valued Volunteers and dedicated quilt top designer/creator, Doris - our May Volunteer of the Month.

Can you believe it?  Fourteen (14) total quilt tops in one month that once bordered out to QOH specs, will be quilted/bound/labeled into Quilts Of Honor and awarded to area Combat Veterans and Service Members to honor their service and sacrifice to our country...Thank YOU, Doris!

For ALL her volunteer efforts for the month of May, Doris will receive a variety of patriotic fabrics purchased directly from www.QuiltJubilee.com, and a $5 McDonald's gift card...Enjoy!

Quilt blocks are starting to come in and we'll be posting a separate post featuring ALL those gorgeous blocks very soon!

Our May Meeting - Spring Bountiful!
